The Dahua DHI-NVR4208-8P-AI/ANZ is an 8-channel WizSense AI Network Video Recorder designed for advanced residential, commercial and professional surveillance systems. Featuring 8 built-in PoE+ ports, dual SATA storage interfaces, 4K HDMI output and powerful AI processing, it provides a complete recording and management platform for up to eight IP cameras.

Supporting IP cameras with resolutions of up to 16MP, the NVR delivers up to 256 Mbps incoming, recording and outgoing bandwidth when AI is disabled, with up to 180 Mbps incoming, recording and outgoing bandwidth when AI is enabled. Its decoding capability supports up to 4 × 8MP @ 30fps, making it suitable for high-resolution 4K surveillance environments.

The integrated WizSense AI functions provide intelligent face detection, face recognition, perimeter protection and SMD Plus directly through the recorder. Compatible cameras can also provide additional AI functions including ANPR, people counting, stereo analysis and heat map. This combination of recorder and camera-based intelligence helps improve detection accuracy and reduce unnecessary alerts.

With 8 PoE+ ports, compatible cameras can be connected directly to the NVR for both network connectivity and power. The recorder also features two SATA ports, supporting up to 20TB, along with 4 alarm inputs and 2 alarm outputs for integrating external security devices and sensors.

Advanced AI Surveillance

The DHI-NVR4208-8P-AI/ANZ combines recorder-based deep-learning analytics with AI capabilities available through compatible Dahua IP cameras.

Recorder-based AI includes face detection, face recognition, perimeter protection and SMD Plus. The face recognition system supports up to 10 face databases and 20,000 images, with additional information such as name, gender, birthday, address, credential type, credential number, country/region and state available for each face image.

Perimeter protection supports intrusion and tripwire functions with human and vehicle classification. The recorder supports 2 channels with 10 IVS rules per channel, while compatible cameras can provide perimeter protection across all channels at 8 targets/s.

The SMD Plus system provides secondary filtering for human and motor vehicle targets across 4 channels, helping reduce false alarms caused by environmental conditions such as leaves, rain and changing lighting.

Recording, Playback & Storage

The recorder supports general, motion detection, intelligent and alarm recording modes. Playback functions include instant playback, general playback, event playback, tag playback and smart playback, with simultaneous playback of up to 8 channels.

For storage, the NVR provides 2 SATA ports supporting up to 20TB, allowing greater recording capacity than compact single-drive NVRs. Recordings can also be backed up using USB devices or network storage.

Connectivity & Alarm Integration

The DHI-NVR4208-8P-AI/ANZ includes 8 PoE+ ports supporting IEEE 802.3af/at, with a total PoE output of 130W and a maximum of 25.5W per individual port. A dedicated 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet port provides network connectivity for the recorder.

For integration with external security equipment, the NVR provides 4 alarm inputs and 2 alarm outputs, along with alarm events including motion detection, video loss, scene changing, PIR alarm, camera offline, video tampering, face recognition, perimeter protection and SMD Plus.
