To keep your CCTV, security and electrical equipment performing reliably, we recommend:
- Clean gently: Wipe lenses, sensors and housings with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
- Keep ventilated: Install recorders, switches and power supplies in a cool, dry, well-ventilated spot, and don’t block the vents.
- Protect from power surges: Use a surge protector or UPS where possible to safeguard your security system.
- Check connections regularly: Inspect cables, seals, mounting screws and connectors once or twice a year, especially after storms or extreme heat.
- Test your system: Check alarms, sensors and camera views regularly to make sure everything is working as it should.
